Quebec Carnival Celebrations is one of the popular winter celebrations of Canada. It is held very year during February. During the period of celebrations, the countrymen get the privilege of having company of Snowman Bonhomme and the Comedians called Kunks. As per the history of the beginning of the carnival celebrations are concerned, it varies from one thought to another thought. One view says that it is the derivation of the Latin word ‘caro’ meaning meat and vale signifies farewell. This means all perishables must be consumed before the 40 days of fasting during Lent. There is also another belief that the celebrations were also a procedure to drive out evil spirits during winter and thereby welcoming spring indicating new hopes and aspirations.
