Columbia is one of the important countries of South American continent. The capital city is Bogotá. The country is known for different celebrations, which is held every year. The popular languages are Latin and Spanish along with a bit of Mexican.

The main celebrations in Columbia are:

Carnival de Bogota: The festival will be celebrated on August 6 this year. It marks the centenary celebrations of Hispanic foundation. The festivals will have masqueardes, krewes and dances. After five days of these festivals, the Summer Festival begins. The Summer Festival includes group of activities, concerts and sports events.

Rock at the park: This festival is held in October. This festival is in fact rated as the second largest festival in Latin America after "Rocking in Rio". At least 1,000 rock bands take part in this event. Other international rock bands like Apocalyptica and Slipknot will participate in this festival.

Iberoamerican Theatre Festival: The festival is held on every two years gap in Bogota, the capital of Columbia. It is the biggest theatre festival throughout the globe.

Carnival of Blacks and Whites: The festival is held every year from January 4 to January 6 in Pasto. The festival during the Spanish rule when slaves were permitted to celebrate on January 5 and the masters showed their approval with their faces painted black. On both January 5 and January 6, the masters put grease or talcum powder on their faces.

Manizales Fair: This festival is celebrated in the Manizales during the first week of the New Year. The festival is celebrated in fancy dress.

Riosucio's Carnival: The festival is held on every two years gap in Riosucio Caldas from January 2 to January 8. The reason for this festival being so popular is that it retrieved past traditions with art, music and customes by a group named Cuadrillas. The festival is celebrated with Guarapo( a drink based on fermented maize) is carried to Calabazos. In the midst of festival, a cool and happy devil's portray is exhibited.

Barranquilla's Carnival: The festival is a century old one.

Bambuco y Sanjuanero Festivals: the festival is held every eyar in Neiva which is held on June 28 and 29 pertaning to Saint Paul or Saint Peter.

Cali Fair: The festival is held in Cali from Decemebr 25 to New Year's Eve. The fair is popularly known for its Salsa marathon concerts attended by the reputed Salsa bands.
