Aalborg Carnival Celebrations is held every year in May, at Aalborg in Northern Denmark. In this festival innumerable number of people throngs the destination of the carnival. The carnival gained importance as Northern Europe's largest Carnival parade. Around weekend, the carnival begins with trumpeting of bands. Life gears up to vibrancy in the streets of Aalaborg with colorful procession along with popular dance form of Brazil. It moves along the local harbor C.W.Obels Plads to the Kildparken.
At the Kildeparken-participants from local Denmark and from other countries, tries to give a better performances so as to impress and convince the judges present there with perfect rhythms and attractive dresses. Towards the week end, only five participants could make it through to the finals. The participants who stands first, are given 10.000 Danish Krones. So also they get the honor of being crowned with the Aalborg carnival Band of the Year.
On Saturday, a water parade is held. Large number of decorated boats sails through the river in the heart of the city. The specialty of the Aalaborg carnival celebrations is that anybody can join the carnival, make it gala celebrations. The street parade finally gets mixed up with water parade at a particular spot where the King is honored. Samba dance makes the Aalaborg Carnival much more thrilling.
The Carnival King then leads the groups of paradeers to Kildeparken, based in the center of Aalaborg.
The Aalborg Carnival is being held ever year on July 4. The festival is being celebrated every year on July 4 since the year 1912. large crowds gathered in the spruced up bushes of Jutland, Denmark to celebrated US Independence Day. The celebrations take place at Rebild National Park( 20 kms south of Aalborg). The celebrations can be stated as a friendship gesture between Denmark and the US. During the days of celebrations, the US nationals based in Denmark, participate with mirth and joy. The flags of both the country are fluttering under heavy breeze.
