With the Nice Jazz Fest, France has carved a niche for itself as a country that simply loves music and of course jazz. Attended by more than 45,000 music aficionados every year, Nice Jazz Festival is regarded as one of the three major jazz events in the whole of Europe; the others being the fests at Montreux and Hague.
Every summer at Nice Jazz Fest more than 500 musicians perform for the audiences open air. Continuing for 8 days, a total of 75 concerts are held at this event. 120 hours of sheer delight and groovy music is what you would get to hear at this musical extravaganza.Every night from 7 in the evening till midnight, live performances by world-famous artists are arranged at three different venues. As time passes by people cheer to their favorite artists and sway their bodies to the tunes being played on the stage. People clapping and singing some snippets along with their favorite artists is a common scene here.
The historic surroundings of the Gallo-Roman site at Nice create a warm and relaxed mood amongst the audience which acts as a bonding gel between the artists and them. Moreover, covering all the aspects of jazz music, starting from its African roots till the avant-garde form, from fusion and urban funk to gospel and blues, Nice Jazz Fest becomes really indeed to lend an ear to the musicians.
