Playing Holi is fun and the excitement of the people touches heights on this day. Holi is played with powdered colors known as “gulaal” and water. People celebrate Holi by smearing the colors on each other's face. Holi celebrates the coming of spring the victory of good over evil. Particularly Children enjoy playing Holi as they use “pichkaries” to drench people. Water balloons filled with colored water are used to play Holi. People get crazy while playing Holi because no other Hindu festival offers such a freedom to enjoy the festival.

In many parts of India Holi is played by breaking the pot filled with butter milk. The pot is normally hung on the streets and by climbing on each other's shoulder the boys break the pot. This colorful festival offers many mouth watering dishes. The celebration of Holi starts with burning of Holika where people light bonfires and dance in the circle. Although Holi is celebrated for two days but in many places like Mathura and Barsana the celebration of Holi lasts for a week. Playing Holi is so much fun that people use weird ideas to play prank on their friends and relatives. Holi is celebrated with the slogan of “bura na mano Holi hai” (don't mind it is Holi).

One of the unique festivals of India people enjoy every moment of this celebration. Usually Holi is celebrated during the March but depends on the Indian calendar. On this day of Holi one can see that how on road side young and old people pour colored water on each other because of the fun involved in this colorful festival people belonging to other community have also started celebrating Holi.
