People follow the Custom of floating the rafts over the years as a gesture of getting rid of all angers and grudges so that a new year can be started with a fresh soul. Thai people also believe that by floating the rafts it will bring them good luck by paying Tribute to Phra Mae Khongkha the water goddess.
