Turkey is known to us as the Republic of Turkey, which is locally known as (Turkiye Cumhuriyeti) is a Eurasian country across the Anatolian peninsula in South West Asia and the Balkan region of South Eastern Europe. Turkey is surrounded on its sides by eight countries, such as on the northwestern part by Bulgaria, Greece on the Western part, Georgia on the North East, Armenia, Azerbaijan( the Nakichevan enclave), Iran on the east and Iraq and Syria located on the South Eastern part of Turkey.

Turkey had the privilege of witnessing the birth of major civilizations like Byzantine Empires and Ottoman's Empires. The location of Turkey is unique on its own.As two continents are interlinked, the culture of Turkey is a mixture of Eastern and Western cultural traditions.Turkey shot into prominence in the recent past when a Turkish writer named Orhan Pamuk was crowned with Noble Prize in literature for the year 2006. Turkey's culture is a blend of the Oguz Turkic, Anatolian and Ottoman (which is a version of Greco-Roman and Islamic cultures) culture. Turkey's culture became westernized with the impact of Western culture and traditions, which began with the westernization of Ottoman Empire.

As Turkey has a good linkage with Western culture, so their culture is diverse and rich in nature. There are various cultural festivals, which take place every year. This are Turkish Sunnet, Anzac Day and Camel Wrestling Hip etc each adding to the legacy of Turkish culture and heritage. Other festivals, which are held every year, are, Istanbul Jazz Festival, Istanbul International Music Festival, Istanbul International Theatre Festival etc. adding elegantly to the pulse of Turkish culture to a new height.

In Turkey musical festivals are of importance locally and globally. Musical festivals like ' Arabesque' ' Hip-Hop' are a result of interaction between Ottoman Empire and the Islamic world along with European culture. This has embedded the interaction with Central Asian Turkic, Islamic and European musical cultural in advanced Turkish musical culture. The impact was also noticed in the current musical culture of Turkey. The above stated festivals are also stated as "The Festival of Ortaca'.

Apart from the above, there are other types of festivals taking place in Turkey. These are, Traditional 'Mesir' Festival-Manisa, Ankara International Arts Festival, International Music and Folklore Festival, Tulip Festival etc.
